Apply to Attend a Bulldog Bytes program.
While priority will be given to applications from Mississippi, students will be considered from any state. Teachers are limited to Mississippi teachers only. Priority will also be given to middle and high school students whose applications (1) show a clear interest in technology, programming, digital forensics, and/or cybersecurity, and (2) who have had limited or mid-level opportunities to develop that interest in their schools or communities.
The GenCyber camps in Columbus, Decatur, Eupora, and Jackson are no longer accepting applications. Openings are still available in the West Point and Holly Springs GenCyber camps.
Applications for the Raleigh camp were handled through the Smith County school district and that camp is filled.
Mize MS Aspire IT camp
Participants will learn to program using a block programming language with the Sphero. They will also learn about cybersecurity and how to protect themselves online. MaKayla Luper, a 2018 Aspirations Computing Winner in Mississippi, is the Program Leader. This camp is open to girls in elementary school, rising 3rd - 6th graders.
Starkville Aspire IT camp
In this active learning environment, students will learn computer programming, cybersecurity basics, and soccer! 2018 Mississippi Aspirations in Computing winners Rayon Scott and Hanna Hardy are the Program Leaders. This camp is open to girls in elementary school, rising 3rd - 6th graders.
The GenCyber Teacher workshop program will be offered on the following dates in 2018: June 25-29 and July 9 - 13.
Participating teachers will receive a daily stipend of $120 and classroom resources. Housing is provided. CEUs are available.

Middle & High School Day Camps
Bulldog Bytes @ Choctaw Tribal Schools
Bulldog Bytes is hosting a day camp at the Choctaw Tribal Schools on June 4 - 7 2018. This camp is open only to boys and girls that attend school at the Tribal Schools, and registration is being facilitated at the high school.
Bully's Coding Academy
Directed by Dr. Vemitra White
Audience: Students currently in grades 3-7, 8-12
Dates: June 4-8
Times: 9 a.m. – Noon (Grades 3-7)
Times: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. (Grades 8-12)
Total Cost: $275
(includes $25 non-refundable application fee; also includes tuition, supplies, a t-shirt, and snacks)
Participants will design and modify their own robots and arcade style video games. They will learn how to control characters, objects, and outcomes in their game and then increase difficulty level and add more features. The students will learn several in demand programming languages as they learn to code through real world and hands-on software development training. Also, the students will need to bring a flash drive to save their game on and use at home. Please include a copy of a recent report card (since January 1, 2018) when mailing the photo release form.
